Spring Season 2003
Judd Winick was one of the housemates in MTV's The Real World - San Francisco, where he became close friends with fellow housemate and AIDS activist Pedro Zamora. After Pedro's death, Judd and his wife-to-be Pam Ling toured the country lecturing about HIV and AIDS. This led to his graphic novel Pedro and Me. Judd's talents and passions got the attention of comic book publishers, and is now one of the hottest writers in the field.
Originally Judd (whom I had met a few years earlier) had agreed to sit down for a half-hour show, but the conversation was going well, a lot of topics had to be covered, and clock watching isn't my strong point, so I had my first full hour show.

In this episode, Judd goes into the process of how Pedro and Me came out of his commitment. Some of his lesser-seen comic strips and books are unearthed, two episodes of his first syndicated comic strip "Frumpy the Clown" is "voiced" for the first time. Judd tells about getting noticed by Oni Press, which later led to his hiring by DC Comics to take over Green Lantern. It was during this time the award-winning "gay teenager" storyline was introduced. Judd also talks about his more recent projects (Green Arrow, The Outsiders) and his vision of the direction of comics in the future.

And in a lighter vein, Judd also reveals his idea of what he and Pam might name their first child, and why it's unlikely you'll see either one of them on the MTV Real World/Road Rules Challenges.
